Well, apparently some congratulations are in order.. Cheers mate!

Aside from that, I understand the point of view of several of the fellow RS'ers. It is in fact a system that best serves those who play more, meaning the more you play, the more you earn points, regardless of your win-lose ratio, as long as you play with more than one player at a time. Currently the scoring system does not reflect accurately who is the most skilled, it only represents who plays more on multiplayer matches, it's statistically likely that anyone will reach 10k eventually, as long as they play long enough. The fact that Gladiator did this in such short time, means he has enough skill to do it in a fairly short amount of time, and for that he deserves the congratulations.

The only thing that still bothers me some, is players using Trick-race tracks against non-skilled players in order to earn points, it is extremely easy to get high-scored that way, and I know of some that do, or did that. On this matter, no further comments :p

Regards!!

Well, let me say something about points (actually, I've got troubles in my job around the same theme, and it gets me nervous).

I love RS. I love the fact that games allow to win (or lose) points. It's a concurrential game, and that's one of its many qualities.

But wait : do I have to be the points leading player to enjoy it ? No way !
Quitus, just keep on playing and winning against me ! I love it too !
And yet, the day I'll win 3 times against you, I will offer myself Champagne ! ;)

Wawa, I love you for these words! :)

In fact I don't see any unfair aspect in taking activity into the count.

Isn't that the same in any sports? I like to watch snooker for example. If a player plays less tournaments in a season, he would not earn enough points for the rankings.

Or imagine a soccer team that would play only half of the matches of a season... Could they become champion?

So don't care for points that much. There are many more ways to prove your skills ;)

Cheers,
Dharo  ...the man, close to dropping out of the top10

About points, i hope there is a limit... I don't know well if there is more and more difficulty to increase his score. I hope.

About it, i think you don't play too much races last times, the scores in races have a several disadvantage, when you win, win a few points, and when you lose, lose a lot. 90% of points i made was in death matches, is a lot easier to win points this way. Here is a sample:

I play a race against to players scored 1000 points each one, i pay about 7 of fees, if i win i win about 5 points, if i lose the fees. Same with a death match, i pay fees, if i win i win 5 or 6 points and 1 point for every kill, lets say 3, i win about 8 points, not 5, if i lose i lose fees - kills, about -4, not -7.

I usually lose more points than i win on races, cause a few player want to play races with this score system, and players who play are very good, players like, dharokan, darkelvis, amloo, realtime and some more.

I think you must don't worry for trick-races, with new score system people don't join if don't know well the map.

Ty again for your congrats!

All this topic is a great illustration of how the new score system works and is supposed to promote some ways of playing depending on skills, activity and current rate.
But we have one problem remaining : Dharokan's bot can't be dropped out the top 10 !!!! :D
I suggest 2 solutions :
- a partial point reset over X :ninja: , while keeping somewhere (in a hall of fame) the top10 before reset time
- a top11 instead of a top10 ? :p (joke)

Hahaha great!

But seriously.. I don't mind dropping off the tables. As long as I am beaten in fun and good games, I don't mind my points at all. Modos don't need high scores! (...and much less do admins:D)

:) Best solution is give Dharo 1000 point him as an award for his dedication and continuity here and  to celebrate his 25k games played ;)

PD: I would be happy to give him this 1000 points from my Gladiator nick.
