I’ll upload a first version tonight with team games option for testing it a couple of days.
Only modos and admin can see the option to start a team game, but all players will be able to join an open team game or view running team games. So everybody can be part of this public test and report here any issue.

This first version is not the def one and some features are missing :
- the chat is not yet filtered within the team, so every player of the game can see the messages (except private ones)
- team games are not scored (until we are sure all works as expected).

The testing goals are to be sure that everything works well, especially that :
- non team games still work fine in this new version
- team option interface is easy to understand and use (team option, team switch, etc…)
- the winning team is the right one (last survivor or all marks caught by a team)
- the games are synchronized : all players and all viewers see the same running game and the same results

As soon as all is OK, we’ll start testing the chat filters and score calculation in a second upgraded version.

Thanks you for your help, try to be online as long as possible in the evening in order to ease the tests.

Could we have a 9th robot in team games to play 3 vs 3 vs 3?

Good news, I was waiting for this question .... :D
Not very easy, but yes, if team games are a success, I think it would be better.

Hi,

I was wondering if we'll have an option for avoiding allie's shot because currently with only the team chat to communicate and not enough time to coordinate our actions, it's most likely a normal game, only the score board change ^^'

Some ideas to specialize team game
  1. Delete energy from bonus but make allie's shot heal us, it'll be more strategic and we could save our allie more effectively
  2. Delay the "Valid" bouton so that we have more time to think about team combo
  3. Make new bonus which will be specific to team game (for example to split dommage between allie's)

Hi,

I am a terrible player in team play mode. I plan my own moves, and then suddenly I see the other team members moves in the chat box. But I don't know who will be quickest and show their move first. And when someone has validated, then I need to figure out where they are, what they try to do and when, and then perhaps change my moves again. Sometimes all of this within 30 secs. So to me, a little bit like scorpia says here above, it becomes mostly like an ordinary, individual game and the team with greatest luck wins...

It would be really great if the team would be able to better co-ordinate their moves and actions, to really make it a team effort. I have two thoughts about this - even though I don't know wheather any of it is technologically possible:

1) Now the "ghost robot" programming seems to be working really fine. Taking that technology to further use, if possible - if each team could see ghost robots for the other team members with the same colour as the robots, or with a team number tag, while programming, one could more easily see where the others are and when, to avoid shooting, bombing or pushing them etc.

2) Another possibility could be that team members are making their moves one at the time - say player 1  in team 2 programs his robot first and validates. Then it's player 2 in team 2's turn, and so on. The game time would be longer due to this of course, so it might not be a very good ide, but that way everyone would see what the other team members do, and program the robots based on that.

Again, don't know if any of this is possible or worthwhile at all, but some thoughts. I really think team playing is a very nice feature and step forward, but as it is currently, it is very difficult to actually make a combined team effort to win a game.

Not necessarily - if player 1 in team 2 validates before player 1 in team 1, player 1 in team 2 moves first. In next round, same thing. However, this smells to me like a huge programming task... So I really don't know if any of the 2 thoughts are possible...
